August 2016 Newsletter
Blog
We are happy to announce that our ABE Library blog is now live: http://fabe-librarians.wix.com/study
This site aims to help guide ABE students and researchers to subject specific resources, guides and support from the library.
Evidence-Based-Acquisition (EBA)
We have recently secured EBA deals with Taylor & Francis and Wiley publishers for 1 year’s access to over 1300 e-book titles.
At the end of our year-long deals, e-books with highest usage will be bought outright and permanently accessible. We recommend adding any key titles to your online reading list (via Library Search) to ensure long term access. Or contact us if you’d like to know more about which e-books are in the offer.
Online Reading List training and progress
We now have 96 live lists and 17 draft lists in the system for 2016/2017 ABE modules.
For all new modules, where no associated online list exists, a reading list has been created using the titles given in module proformas. This is vital to making reading materials available to students in time for the start of term.
To book reading list training or a refresher session please email Kate or Sara:
Access to other libraries
Our reciprocal access arrangement with UCL will come to an end in September 2016. For more information about access to other libraries please see our web pages:
Online Library Guides
This summer we have updated our FABE library Guides and made them available online via the Online reading list system. Guides are available for the following:
Please pass these links on to your students and link to them in your reading lists where appropriate.
If there are any other resources you would like to see guides for please send us your suggestions.
