Westminster Archive Archive Services collects, preserves, and provides access to records created by staff and students of the University and act as the central point of information about the University's history.

Images, Plans & Maps

RIBA Pix A visual archive of digital images from the British Architectural Library. All can be easily purchased or licensed through the RIBApix web shop. Lo-resolution Images can be downloaded for non-commercial private study or research.

AJBL Digital database with information on over 1,900 projects (most from the last 20 years but including major projects back to 1900). Note: First-time users must register for a personal username and password. Our instructions can be found here

Creative Commons Access to search services providing visual content you can share, use and remix using creative commons licences

Europeana Artworks, artefacts, books, videos and sounds from across Europe.

Rijks Studio Downloadable copyright-free images of artwork from the Rijksmuseum collection.

Digimap Ordnance Survey maps to view, print or save at pre-defined scales. You will need your University username and password to login. You will need to register the first time you use Digimap. Find our guidance here

Architects Journal  (commonly referred to by architects as the AJ) is a key UK architecture journal providing up-to-the-minute architecture news, in-depth news analysis and more. Please see our guide for registration and access 

The Architectural Review a monthly international architectural magazine. It has been published in London since 1896. First-time users must register for a personal username and password.

Magazines and Zines

Magazines can be found on the third floor of Marylebone library, there is a display of the most recent editions in the third floor entrance. You will also find our Zines collection on the third floor. Zines are self-published, small-circulation, often nonprofit publications. They usually deal with topics too controversial or niche for mainstream media, presented in an unpolished layout and unusual design. Find out more on our Zines page 

Audio-visual

Box of Broadcasts BoB A television and radio recording and archive service offering access to over 45,000 programmes. Search and record programmes coming up in the next 7 days, watch programmes from the archive and create clips. 

Lynda.com A huge range of video tutorials supporting learning in software, technology, creative and business skills all free to University of Westminster staff and currently enrolled students.

Free Web content There are lots of great websites from official bodies and institutions available for you to access for free. This guide outlines these as well as apps, blogs, emailing lists and events sites/ recorded talks.
